What happens in an emergency — and what does not.

This is the most important thing on this page, so we have given it its own section rather than a footnote.

What Emergency Assistance does

It sends a request for help to the trusted contacts the supported user has chosen, after a short countdown that allows an accidental press to be cancelled. Where location sharing has been consented to, the alert includes location.

What it does not do

It does not contact 999 or any emergency service. It is not a monitored alarm service, there is no call centre behind it, and there is no guaranteed response time. If nobody in the trusted circle is available, nobody is dispatched.

In a life-threatening emergency

Call 999. Aethelbridge Care is designed to sit alongside emergency services, not in front of them, and it should never be relied on as the only route to help.

Fall detection

Aethelbridge Care does not currently offer automatic fall detection. An emergency request must be made by a person. We will say so clearly on this page if that ever changes.

Aethelbridge Care helps families support loved ones with confidence, connection and care visibility.

Aethelbridge Care supports care coordination, communication and safety awareness. It does not replace professional medical advice, emergency services or clinical judgement.
